From skyscrapers and homes to bridges and boulevards, architects and architectural drafters touch our lives every day. Using sophisticated software, drafters create plans and drawings that bring structures to life long before the first screw is turned. Under the guidance of our faculty of working professionals, you'll begin taking career-related courses in your first term to develop the essential skills you'll need for success as an architectural drafter. Coursework includes residential and commercial construction, residential architectural design and basic Computer Aided Design (CAD) techniques. In fact, eighty percent of your core contact hours will take place in hands-on lab settings. You'll be trained by experts on industry-standard software such as AutoLISP and REVIT, plus AutoCAD, which integrates architectural and engineering drafting methods to create intricate plans and charts.
